Earn an MS degree full-time in as little as 12 months, or 15 months with a summer internship.
Explore a wide variety of topics in robotics such as motion planning, kinematics, dynamics, manipulation, and machine learning.
Learn in a fast-paced program and within a small cohort of 15-20 experiential, cultural and industry-diverse students.
Graduate with a portfolio demonstrating an impressive range of experience, capabilities, and inter-disciplinary knowledge.
The field of robotics is forecasted to grow substantially over the next 20 years and roboticists will be required to have expertise in computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, and mathematics. This range of requirements often leaves a gap between an undergraduate’s abilities and the needs of industry. Northwestern's MSR
principles and newer, emerging technologies. Business courses (30 percent) in finance, marketing, and management provide a framework for students to understand how to translate their technology ideas into practical business solutions.
MSIT provides an intensive and unique curriculum across three fundamental areas: communication systems and networks, computing systems engineering, and business and management principles. Technical courses (70 percent) focus on fundamental engineering

“Potential employers love to see a portfolio of concrete project work, and MSR gives us just that. The project-based nature of the program gives us the chance to take classes and then apply what we learn in practice.”
“I've never interacted with a group of master’s students that were as ambitious and curious as those I find in the MSR program. So, prepare to be inspired and pushed by the work ethic and thoughtfulness of the other people in your program!”
